Siteimprove GmbH seeks a Digital Accessibility Specialist to perform compliance testing, analyze digital properties, and advise clients on accessibility standards and remediation strategies.
This position focuses on evaluating the accessibility of client websites and applications against established standards. The specialist will provide detailed analysis, guide customers in aligning accessibility goals with business needs, and support the sales team during scoping phases.
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive accessibility audits on web pages to spot compliance patterns and issues.
- Create user-focused documentation and partner with clients to outline scopes for manual testing efforts.
- Participate in team initiatives to ensure digital products meet accessibility quality standards.
- Evaluate peer outputs to maintain accuracy and drive process improvements.
- Manage several projects simultaneously within an agile framework and help create fixes for identified issues.
- Assist the sales department in defining project scopes for potential clients.
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on experience in accessibility testing.
- Practical knowledge of screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and Talkback.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility standards such as WCAG, Section 508, and ACT-R.
- Competence in Microsoft Windows applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management capabilities.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Background in direct sales, project management, or client-facing communications.
Nice to have
- Experience in front-end development or user experience design.
- Professional certifications such as CPACC, WAS, or 508 Trusted Tester.
- Prior work with accessibility core competencies frameworks.
