Director, Policy, Advocacy and Government Affairs Switzerland

CSL Behring seeks a Director of Policy, Advocacy and Government Affairs for Switzerland to lead strategic public affairs, government relations, and stakeholder engagement.

The company is looking for a senior leader to manage external affairs and government relations within the Swiss market. This role focuses on shaping policy strategies, mitigating risks, and building relationships with key stakeholders to support commercial goals and patient access to therapies.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute a strategic public affairs plan to enhance the company’s profile and support business operations in Switzerland.
• Coordinate interactions with government officials, industry bodies, and patient advocacy organizations.
• Represent the organization in major industry associations and committees.
• Collaborate with internal functions to align on external engagement priorities.
• Work with the Communications team to manage media relations and strategic messaging.
• Develop policy updates for senior leadership, ensuring alignment with affiliate and corporate external affairs goals.
• Serve on the Commercial Leadership Team to co-develop strategies with Therapeutic Areas, Medical, Market Access, and Regulatory leads.
• Participate in the Bern Site Leadership Team to drive political engagement for manufacturing sites.
• Provide strategic insights to influence Corporate & External Affairs strategy at both the Swiss and international levels.
• Manage relationships with patient advocacy groups and coordinate with Medical Affairs and Communications on engagement programs.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in healthcare policy, public affairs, or access roles.
• Proven track record of building company influence with national and local healthcare stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate across a matrix organization to achieve shared objectives.
• Deep understanding of government authorities and healthcare industry associations.
• Experience working with patient groups to advance common policy objectives.
• Established network of contacts with government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders.
• Strong analytical capabilities to identify risks and connect policy issues to business impact.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex policy developments to senior leaders.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on growth.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to orchestrate cross-functional efforts.
• Fluency in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Graduate or professional degree in law, public health, international relations, or political science.
• Background in biologics, plasma, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Experience in media relations or integrated communications campaigns.
• Proficiency in additional languages.
