CSL Behring Vifor seeks a Director for Nonclinical Due Diligence & External Innovation in EMEA (CH). The role provides scientific leadership for in-licensing and acquisition evaluations, reporting to the Executive Director of Nonclinical Development.
This position serves as the primary scientific authority for nonclinical assessments tied to in-licensing, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. The director ensures that pharmacology, PK/QSP, and toxicology data are evaluated objectively to support high-stakes business decisions. Additionally, the role acts as the nonclinical liaison for specific research programs and oversees strategy across therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Manages the full lifecycle of nonclinical due diligence for assigned opportunities, from initial request to final governance presentation.
- Synthesizes expert input from toxicology, PK/QSP, and pharmacology teams into a unified scientific assessment.
- Translates complex data into clear risk narratives and identifies First-in-Human (FIH) enabling gaps, translational risks, and regulatory constraints.
- Develops high-quality due diligence reports, executive summaries, and risk tables for governance review.
- Serves as the scientific interface between Nonclinical Development and Business Development/Therapeutic Area teams.
- Chairs the NCD Review Committee and escalates high-impact issues to the Head of NCD.
- Maintains and improves nonclinical due diligence frameworks and templates.
- Mentors junior team members and matrix contributors as needed.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Ph.D., D.V.M., or equivalent) in toxicology, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in nonclinical development, with demonstrated expertise in due diligence or external innovation.
- Deep understanding of First-in-Human (FIH) enabling requirements, especially for biologics and complex modalities.
- Strong knowledge of the drug development process and ICH/GLP standards.
- Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

- Board certification in toxicology.
- Experience spanning multiple therapeutic areas and modalities.
