Director, Search & Evaluation Early TA Lead (CVR and Haem)

CSL Behring Vifor seeks a Director for Search & Evaluation in Early Talent Acquisition, focusing on Hematology and Cardiovascular/Renal areas within the EMEA region.

This position serves as the senior leader for early-stage search and evaluation within the Therapeutic Area Leadership Team. The role is responsible for identifying and advancing high-potential assets from preclinical through Phase 1 clinical stages, ensuring that external innovation priorities are seamlessly integrated into the broader portfolio strategy.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary Early S&E authority within the TALT, shaping therapeutic strategy and aligning external innovation with portfolio planning.
• Proactively scout and source preclinical and Phase 1 assets to build a strong pipeline that supports therapeutic area goals.
• Co-lead internal sessions to evaluate and prioritize New Product Opportunities across CSL’s therapeutic domains.
• Create and implement early partnering strategies, including onboarding plans and competitive positioning for key assets.
• Orchestrate cross-functional due diligence efforts, coordinating scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial reviews to support governance decisions.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Regional Ecosystem Leads to move high-priority opportunities through negotiation and final deal closure.
• Represent the therapeutic area externally by leading sourcing initiatives at specialized conferences and building relationships with biotech firms, academic institutions, and investors.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in the biopharma industry, particularly in external innovation, search and evaluation, or business development.
• An advanced degree is mandatory, such as a PhD, MD, or equivalent qualification.
• Deep scientific knowledge in either Hematology or Cardiovascular/Renal therapeutic areas.
• A demonstrated history of leading due diligence processes and successfully closing early-stage deals.
• A robust professional network within biotech, academia, and pharmaceutical business development organizations.
