Global Medical Director, Evidence Generation Lead

Biogen (Switzerland) seeks a Global Medical Director to lead evidence generation for Dravet Syndrome, managing external partnerships and real-world data initiatives in Baar, CH.

This position serves as a key driver for data generation within the Global Medical Dravet Syndrome team. The role focuses on fostering collaboration and innovation while leading partnerships with external stakeholders to produce disease-specific insights. It plays a central part in advancing research excellence and integrating novel data endpoints into clinical strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee collaborative research projects and partnerships with external entities.
  • Integrate and validate new endpoints, such as digital measures, into study designs.
  • Provide strategic guidance for claims-based analyses, observational studies, and real-world evidence (RWE) projects.
  • Facilitate Integrated Evidence Generation Planning (IEGP) forums.
  • Direct the design and analysis of Phase 4 company-sponsored clinical trials and secondary real-world data analyses.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Global Value & Access teams on data analytics initiatives.
  • Work with scientific communication leads to interpret data and craft narratives.
  • Ensure effective coordination with regional and affiliate medical teams.
  • Travel as necessary to support partnership development and project execution.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, MPH, or equivalent), preferably with neurology specialization.
  • At least 10 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, CROs, consulting, or academia.
  • Proven track record in RWE activities and scientific publications.
  • Deep knowledge of neurology, rare diseases, and clinical trial processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Background in Medical Affairs or R&D.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Experience with registry studies, HEOR databases, and data analytics, including post-hoc analyses.
  • Familiarity with integrating digital and novel endpoints into research methodologies.
  • Global experience in developing patient-centric RWE solutions.
