The company seeks a Director for International Medical Affairs in Neuroscience to lead launch strategies, field medical plans, and cross-functional partnerships across key global markets from its Basel location.

In this director-level position, the professional will define and execute medical strategies for Neuroscience programs across major international markets. The role involves shaping evidence generation plans, managing field medical initiatives, and collaborating with global partners to address local needs while ensuring compliance and high-quality scientific delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of launch strategies for Neuroscience programs in priority international regions, incorporating innovative partnership models.
  • Collaborate with medical affairs teams across various countries to align delivery with local market requirements.
  • Guide the development of evidence generation, MSL strategies, medical education, publication plans, and expert networks.
  • Shape and implement innovative scientific communication and education plans for external stakeholders.
  • Monitor financial resources to ensure cost-effective and timely execution of medical activities.
  • Serve as the representative for International Medical Affairs regarding prioritized products to both internal and external audiences.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of reimbursement and market access strategies.
  • Direct the planning and execution of Field Medical strategies and initiatives.
  • Offer proactive medical insights to asset lifecycle management to identify new therapeutic opportunities.
  • Ensure Patient Access programs are supported and delivered in full compliance with standards.
  • Guarantee that all medical affairs activities adhere to company policies and the highest quality standards.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) in Health or Life Sciences.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proven track record in pre-launch and launch medical affairs within a major international market.
  • Experience operating within matrix organizations and leading cross-functional medical projects, demonstrating strong influence and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex medical affairs initiatives with measurable impact on timelines, quality, and strategic results.
  • Full professional fluency in English.

  • Prior experience in the Neuroscience therapeutic area.
