Bristol Myers Squibb Celgene seeks a Senior Director to lead international therapeutic area strategy, bridging global vision with regional execution across Europe, APAC, and Intercontinental markets.

This newly established Senior Director role provides overarching strategic leadership for the therapeutic area on an international scale. The position acts as the primary counterpart to Global Vice Presidents and Therapeutic Area Heads, ensuring alignment between global objectives and regional execution. The incumbent will enable Regional Medical Leads and Engagement Leads across Europe, APAC, and Intercontinental markets, serving as a critical medical bridge connecting International Medical, Global TA, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development, and Regulatory functions.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the medical strategy for the therapeutic area across International Markets throughout the entire asset lifecycle.
  • Convert global therapeutic area strategies into actionable guidance for Regional Medical Leads and Engagement Leads in all designated regions.
  • Provide strategic oversight and direction to regional medical teams in Europe, APAC, and Intercontinental zones.
  • Collaborate with Regional Medical Heads to offer scientific leadership and ensure alignment between regional activities and therapeutic area goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the therapeutic area team while establishing a robust pipeline for future leadership.
  • Establish and manage high-level external partnerships with thought leaders, academic institutions, and healthcare system stakeholders.
  • Serve as the senior medical liaison across International Medical, Global TA, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development, and Regulatory departments.

Requirements

  • Senior medical leader holding an advanced scientific or medical degree.
  • Extensive expertise in Oncology, Haematology, or Innovative Medicine.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of at least one specific region or key country within the BMS portfolio.
  • Practical knowledge of Research and Drug Development processes, including Real-World Evidence (RWE).
  • Proven experience in program and project management.
  • Track record of delivering results and leading strategically within a matrix organization.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, or MD.
  • Broad knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas.
