International Therapeutic Area Head

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Director for the newly created International Therapeutic Area Head role in Boudry, CH. This position provides strategic medical leadership across international markets.

This newly established Senior Director position serves as the primary counterpart to Global Vice Presidents and Therapeutic Area Heads for international markets. The role is designed to enable Regional Medical Leads across Europe, APAC, and International Connections to successfully execute their mandates by providing overarching strategic direction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the medical strategy for therapeutic areas across the entire asset lifecycle in international markets.
• Convert global therapeutic area strategies into actionable guidance for Regional Medical Leads and Regional Medical Executive Leads.
• Provide strategic oversight and direction to medical leads in Europe, APAC, and International Connections.
• Collaborate with regional medical leadership to align scientific strategies with broader therapeutic area goals.
• Mentor, coach, and develop the therapeutic area team while establishing a robust pipeline for future leadership.
• Establish and manage high-level external partnerships with academic institutions, thought leaders, and healthcare stakeholders.
• Serve as the key medical liaison connecting International Medical, Global Therapeutic Areas, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development, and Regulatory teams.

Requirements

• Senior medical leader holding an advanced scientific or medical degree.
• Extensive expertise in Oncology, Haematology, or Innovative Medicine.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
• Comprehensive understanding of at least one specific region or key country within the company's portfolio.
• Practical knowledge of Research and Drug Development processes, including Real-World Evidence.
• Proven experience in program and project management, including milestone tracking, budgeting, and deliverable definition.
• Track record of achieving results and leading strategically within complex matrix organizations.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, or MD.
• Broad knowledge of therapeutic areas.
