CERN seeks an Electronics Technician for onsite work in Geneva to support the CMS Tracker construction, focusing on integration, testing, and commissioning of detector components.
The company is looking for a specialist to assist with the integration and commissioning of services and infrastructure related to the CMS Tracker project. The position centers on preparing and validating services, conducting reception tests on components, and managing the setup and operation of test electronics.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of services and infrastructure for large detector assemblies.
- Configure and run test electronics and commissioning setups.
- Conduct reception testing for detector substructures and individual components.
- Validate integrated electrical services and resolve issues during the construction phase.
- Update the production database with acceptance test reports and installation data to ensure traceability.
Requirements
- A higher technical diploma or equivalent relevant experience in Electronics or a related field.
- Strong skills in assembling, installing, and wiring electronic components.
- Practical experience with electrical testing and measurement techniques using laboratory equipment.
- Ability to maintain laboratory equipment and inventory, update technical databases, and document testing procedures.
- Fluency in spoken and written English or French.

- Commitment to learn the second language (English or French).
