Executive Director, Clinical Leader– Neuropsychiatry

Johnson & Johnson seeks an Executive Director and Clinical Leader for Neuropsychiatry in Allschwil, CH, to drive late-phase clinical strategies for neuroscience compounds.

This executive position sits within the Neuroscience team, focusing on critical brain health challenges such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease. The role is central to pioneering the journey from laboratory research to patient care, specifically by defining and executing medical and scientific strategies for late-phase clinical compounds.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement clinical development strategies, including life-cycle management and expansion into new geographic markets.
• Direct cross-functional clinical teams and provide supervision for junior medical personnel.
• Act as the lead physician for specific molecules, overseeing medical monitoring, safety reporting, and overall medical oversight.
• Draft and manage clinical study reports and essential documentation required for global regulatory submissions.
• Oversee and manage the financial budget for all clinical activities related to assigned projects.
• Serve as the primary medical liaison with global health authorities regarding clinical and medical matters.
• Contribute to the strategic evaluation of new scientific opportunities within the therapeutic area.

Requirements

• MD degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, accompanied by post-doctoral training and necessary certifications.
• At least seven years of experience in clinical research or the pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Phase II or Phase III development within the pharmaceutical sector.
• At least three years of proven success in managerial or supervisory roles.
• Deep expertise in clinical drug development, with a demonstrated ability to design clinical development plans.
• Proven ability to function effectively within a matrix organizational structure.
• Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken English.

• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry or neurology.
• Prior experience with global registration processes.
• History of direct interaction or collaboration with health authorities.
