Expediter

Casale in Lugano seeks a Mid-level Expediter to manage supplier progress and delivery schedules for innovative chemical plants. The role focuses on desk and field expediting within the Procurement Department.

This position sits within the Procurement Department and reports directly to the Section Manager. The company designs and builds advanced plants for various chemical processes, including green ammonia, methanol, and syngas. The Expediter ensures that material deliveries align with purchase orders and project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for suppliers to track supply progress and delivery status.
• Monitor vendor performance to guarantee materials arrive according to Purchase Order terms.
• Conduct desk expediting to review production and financial updates, spotting risks that could delay deliveries.
• Gather Monthly Progress Reports from suppliers and analyze them to determine actual progress and forecast realistic delivery dates.
• Collaborate with Quality Inspectors to oversee supply progress.
• Keep the Project Manager and Procurement Coordinator informed about supply status, delays, and critical issues through regular updates.
• Work with suppliers to create and execute recovery plans that keep delivery schedules on track.
• Alert the Expediting Coordinator Manager and QC & Expediting Section Manager to critical supply issues and suggest corrective actions.
• Develop and implement field expediting plans when necessary to maintain strict control over supplier progress.
• Carry out field expediting tasks and generate related reports as needed.
• Produce monthly General Expediting Reports that highlight critical Purchase Orders and outline corrective actions taken or planned.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in a similar role within an engineering firm, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical sector.
• Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.

• A degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
