FAAS Manager - Assistant Controller (IFMS) - Zurich, Basel, Geneva

EY AG seeks a Senior Assistant Controller for its IFMS team in Switzerland. The role supports the Regional Controller with financial reporting, compliance, and operational oversight across multiple accounting frameworks.

The company is growing its Integrated Finance Managed Services (IFMS) practice in Switzerland and needs an Assistant Controller to assist the Regional Controller with finance operations and oversight. This position helps maintain governance standards, improves delivery quality, and combines financial reporting support with cross-functional teamwork in a managed services setting.

Responsibilities

  • Help with monthly and quarterly closing tasks, such as posting journal entries, performing reconciliations, and analyzing variances.
  • Prepare financial data according to the required reporting standards, which may include IFRS, US GAAP, Swiss Code of Obligations, or Swiss GAAP FER based on client needs.
  • Partner with FAAS specialists to address technical accounting questions within the IFMS delivery model.
  • Assist with regulatory submissions, including SEC filings, EU regulatory reports, and SIX Swiss Exchange disclosures where relevant.
  • Collaborate with IFMS Delivery Executives and global teams to track service performance, spot potential issues early, and help resolve them quickly.
  • Monitor scope changes and contract details to support commercial management efforts.
  • Provide operational support for treasury functions, track stock-based compensation, and coordinate with banks and transfer agents.
  • Work with EY managed services teams and client HR to handle payroll-related tasks and ensure tax and benefits compliance.
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit procedures.
  • Gather materials for Audit Committee and Board meetings.
  • Help administer IFMS systems, including managing subledger-to-ledger interfaces and performing reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6 to 9+ years of progressive accounting experience, with substantial hands-on work in corporate or in-house finance roles, focusing on financial reporting and compliance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP, with the ability to work across different frameworks as needed.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with onshore and offshore teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SAP, Concur, and Ariba is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing client requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, plus proficiency in French or German.

Nice to have

  • CPA certification (active, eligible, or inactive) or an equivalent credential is preferred.
  • Experience supporting public company reporting or SEC-related processes is an advantage.
