Group Financial Controller

EFG International seeks a Senior Group Financial Controller in Geneva to lead financial control framework transformation, optimize global operations, and manage key finance projects.

Positioned within the Corporate Finance department, this senior role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives that optimize financial operations and transform the group’s control framework. The incumbent will lead complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful delivery while coordinating with local and global finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Internal Control System (ICS) and the broader control framework for the Group.
  • Direct the transformation of accounting policies and related procedures.
  • Manage global capital and dividend flows, including the optimization of the Group’s balance sheet across subsidiaries.
  • Lead the evolution of the chart of accounts and drive discussions regarding the consolidation tool, general ledger, and ERP systems.
  • Identify process bottlenecks through start-to-end analysis and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Coordinate with Local CFOs and manage relationships with the Global CFO.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for finance-related initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, making necessary adjustments to ensure successful delivery.
  • Present updates and results to the Executive Committee (ExCO) and Global Business Committee (GBC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with experience beyond audit practice.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar senior role.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering tangible results.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements and Company Law.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in the banking sector.
  • Fluency in French, German, and/or Italian.
