Baer AG seeks a Financial Crime Compliance Officer (CDB Compliance) in Zürich. The role focuses on Swiss banks' code of conduct due diligence, client identification, and compliance advisory across the client lifecycle.
The company is looking for a specialist to act as the internal competence center for all matters related to the Swiss banks' code of due diligence (CDB 20). In this capacity, the professional will serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring that the bank adheres to regulatory standards throughout the entire client journey.
Responsibilities
- Oversee client and partner identification, including beneficial ownership verification, from onboarding through ongoing management in line with CDB 20 regulations.
- Advise Private Banking Front Management and Relationship Managers on due diligence requirements at every stage of the client relationship.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Client Documentation Services, Business Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal teams.
- Conduct independent reviews of unusual transactions, analyzing their economic rationale to verify alignment with client declarations and KYC profiles.
- Identify and escalate potential risks, then oversee the implementation of mitigation strategies to limit the bank's exposure.
- Roll out compliance policies focused on client identification and beneficial ownership establishment.
- Develop and deliver training sessions and materials on due diligence topics.
- Propose and execute improvements to existing processes, procedures, and services to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Hold a graduate degree in law or business economics, or have completed a banking apprenticeship with further education in Compliance Management or a similar field.
- Possess several years of professional experience in banking, with a specific focus on compliance.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of CDB regulations and requirements.
- Show strong analytical abilities to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from complex information.
- Work effectively under tight deadlines, deliver results independently, and communicate difficult decisions clearly.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to prioritize tasks in complex situations.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders through effective communication.
- Be proficient in MS Office and comfortable using banking IT applications.
- Communicate fluently in English and possess at least a B2 level proficiency in German.

- Proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus.
