Firewall and IT Security Architect

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Firewall and IT Security Architect in Zürich to design secure network solutions and advise German-speaking clients on best practices.

This position serves as the main technical liaison for German-speaking customers, translating their security needs into robust architectural designs. The specialist is responsible for building, deploying, and sustaining firewall infrastructures that protect client data and network integrity while providing expert guidance.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to evaluate their network security landscape and create customized protection strategies.
• Set up, fine-tune, and resolve issues with firewall systems to guarantee peak operational efficiency.
• Advise clients on industry-standard security protocols and firewall management techniques.
• Deliver educational sessions for both external customers and internal staff regarding security tools and operational procedures.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated professional history as a Firewall and IT Security Architect, particularly in roles involving direct client interaction.
• Fluent proficiency in both German and English.
• Deep technical knowledge of Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall ecosystems.

Nice to have

• Professional credentials like the Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE).
