Functional Lead for the Secondary Engineering Standardization Team at ABB Power Grids in Zürich. The role focuses on driving product standardization, developing roadmaps, and leading the team in GIS secondary engineering.
This position serves as the Functional Lead for the Standardization Team within the Secondary Engineering department of the High Voltage Products business unit. The primary objective is to advance product standardization efforts and create a strategic roadmap to direct future product development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide functional leadership for the Secondary Engineering Standardization Team, overseeing daily operations, task planning, workload distribution, progress tracking, and team capacity utilization.
- Establish design standards for GIS Secondary Engineering by creating templates and guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to create, maintain, and update the Secondary Engineering Standardization Roadmap.
- Participate in quality assurance processes and continuous improvement cycles within the GIS organization, working with other engineering groups to align on and prioritize enhancements.
- Take individual responsibility for executing and technically leading improvement tasks outlined in the Standardization roadmap.
- Lead the standardization and harmonization of E3 templates to ensure a robust and efficient foundation for project-specific schematics.
Requirements
- Background in electrical engineering.
- Proven track record of successful leadership, whether through formal management roles or leading complex projects.
- Extensive experience in Secondary Equipment engineering, specifically as a Secondary Engineering Project Manager.
- Familiarity with tools utilized in Secondary Engineering.
- Willingness and capability to assume functional leadership responsibilities within a team.
- Fluent command of English.
Nice to have
- Experience in Project Management, such as holding a PMP certification.
- Proficiency in German or additional languages.
