Global Head of Supply Chain Science, Technology & Launch

Roche seeks a Director to lead its Global Supply Chain Science, Technology & Launch division, focusing on strategic architecture, launch orchestration, and leadership development in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

This senior role acts as a central strategic engine for the Global Supply Chain division, ensuring alignment across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial, and Regulatory teams. The position is structured with half the time dedicated to launch and integration orchestration, while the remaining half is split between strategic architecture and building leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operational efficiencies, cost reductions, and successful scaling from pilot to commercial stages through Lean design principles.
• Serve as the primary strategic contact for global launch readiness, ensuring adherence to global design standards and regulatory compliance.
• Focus the majority of effort (60-80%) on multi-year strategic planning during early product life cycle stages to challenge existing methods and integrate new technologies.
• Co-own the global supply chain strategy by defining policies, standardizing processes, establishing governance frameworks, and setting physical product requirements.
• Oversee large-scale integration projects that cover end-to-end supply chain integration and new product commercialization across various regions and divisions.
• Negotiate and influence internal leaders in Manufacturing, R&D, and Finance, as well as external logistics providers and manufacturing sites on a regular basis.
• Resolve conflicts between competing functional interests, such as balancing R&D speed with compliance, and present investment and readiness cases to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Life Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of leadership experience in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
• Deep expertise in industry operations with hands-on experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Quality & Regulatory areas.
• Strong strategic decision-making skills with thorough knowledge of product development, life cycle management, and the Roche Diagnostics portfolio.

• Ph.D. or MBA qualification.
