Global Product Manager

ABB seeks a Senior Global Product Manager to drive profitable growth for its DC UPS product line within the Power Protection business, focusing on market transformation and technical alignment.

This global position sits within the DC UPS agile team at ABB’s Power Protection division. The primary objective is to ensure the product line achieves profitable growth by translating market needs into precise offer specifications. The role operates globally without relocation requirements, with a preference for candidates based in Europe or the US, particularly near Critical Power manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Analyze global standards, market dynamics, and customer needs to assess their impact on the existing product portfolio.
• Evaluate market size, track industry trends, benchmark competitors, and pinpoint gaps in current offerings.
• Work closely with internal teams and Electrification groups on DC developments, ensuring products align with technical standards.
• Oversee technical specifications for designated products and support business cases for new developments, cost reductions, and lifecycle changes.
• Lead design-to-cost efforts to meet low kW targets while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Coordinate certification pathways (IEC/UL), sustainability goals, and preconfigured solution codes for key regions.
• Manage go-to-market strategies, including product launches and brand positioning.
• Develop pricing models to secure target profitability levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management practices.
• Minimum of five years of experience in product management roles.
• Experience with gate models, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Advanced skills in PLM tools, SAP, and the MS Office Suite.
• Fluent command of English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of high-power or DC technologies within a product management context.
• Prior experience with topics adjacent to DC technologies, products, or solutions.
• Familiarity with cost modeling and competitor benchmarking techniques.
• Additional languages suitable for APAC engagement.
