GPG Insulation & Components APQP Leader

ABB Power Grids seeks a Mid-level GPG Insulation & Components APQP Leader to coordinate APQP strategy, lead cross-functional collaboration, and support R&D and manufacturing teams in Zurich (remote).

The company is looking for a professional to manage the implementation and upkeep of foundational APQP standards within the GPG I&C Quality framework. This role involves aligning with a defined strategy, updating essentials based on new risks, and serving as a central link between quality management, factories, global experts, and R&D teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate the foundational APQP plan.
• Organize meetings related to the APQP plan, prepare documentation, and act as the primary liaison between the quality management team, factories, global experts, and R&D.
• Join FMEA workshops and assist hubs and factories in applying foundational APQP standards.
• Guide the R&D department in utilizing foundational APQP essentials for new product initiatives.
• Facilitate the transfer of APQP essentials for ToT projects.
• Serve as the GPG I&C Plato Administrator, providing training to cross-functional teams and ensuring content accuracy.
• Identify emerging technologies and collaborate with operations to implement necessary process changes affecting foundational APQP essentials.

Requirements

• Hold a technical degree from a university.
• Possess 3-5 years of experience with APQP, ideally in automotive or wind sectors.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in APQP processes, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA methodologies.
• Show excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive process improvements.
• Have a track record of leading cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders.
• Be fluent in English.

• Prior experience with Plato is considered a plus.
