Head of Engineering

The company seeks a Head of Engineering to lead the Experience & Engineering team in Germany, focusing on strategic growth, AI integration, and team development. Based in Zurich, this hybrid role requires strong leadership and frontend expertise.

This leadership position sits within the Experience & Engineering team in Germany and serves as a pivotal role for steering the strategic direction and expansion of the engineering departments. The focus lies on constructing robust systems, refining operational processes, cultivating leadership capabilities, and steering the organizational culture toward AI-driven development practices.

Responsibilities

• Guide, support, and develop Team Leads and Senior Engineers, taking responsibility for their professional growth.
• Establish the strategy for embedding Artificial Intelligence into everyday engineering workflows.
• Manage the department's operational success, covering resource allocation, budget oversight, and utilization rates.
• Collaborate with Directors and VPs to refine the technological vision for the DACH region.
• Cultivate an inclusive, high-performance environment and implement modern departmental practices.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing managers or overseeing large engineering departments.
• Strong technical background in frontend development to evaluate architectural choices and provide mentorship.
• Knowledge of agency or consultancy economics and the ability to convert KPIs into practical outcomes.
• Fluency in both German and English for effective communication.
