Head of HR Switzerland - Retail

Michael Page seeks an Executive Head of HR for its Swiss retail operations in Basel. This hybrid role leads the local HR function, ensuring compliance with Swiss law and driving strategic people initiatives.

This position serves as a key member of the country management team, reporting directly to the Country General Manager. The primary objective is to build a robust, future-ready HR department that aligns with global guidelines while supporting the company's rapid expansion across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Adapt global HR strategies into local policies and ensure their successful implementation.
• Collaborate with leadership to create and execute a comprehensive Country People Plan.
• Design, maintain, and enforce a complete HR policy framework.
• Manage the entire HR landscape for the Swiss market.
• Implement and localize HR systems, such as SuccessFactors.
• Track HR KPIs to measure performance and inform business decisions.
• Plan and execute HR projects that support core business goals.
• Guide organizational change and transformation efforts.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on complex HR matters.
• Mentor and develop the local HR team, including advisors and support staff.
• Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure strict adherence to local regulations.

Requirements

• A business degree or formal HR education and certification.
• Minimum of 10 years in HR, with demonstrated leadership experience.
• Deep understanding of Swiss labor legislation.
• Prior experience working within the retail sector.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
