Aebi Schmidt Group seeks a Head of Product Management Europe in Burgdorf to lead product strategy, lifecycle management, and team development across the region.
This senior position combines strategic oversight with operational execution to define the future product landscape for the Aebi Schmidt Group. The incumbent holds end-to-end accountability for product lifecycle management, serving as a catalyst for innovation and portfolio transformation while reporting directly to the Head of Group Product Management & Innovation.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the European product strategy, ensuring all portfolios remain market-oriented, integrated, and profitable.
- Establish a clear product vision and multi-year roadmaps, prioritizing innovation and investment areas.
- Oversee the complete product lifecycle with a strong emphasis on profitability and continuous optimization.
- Analyze market, customer, and competitive trends in Europe and globally to identify technological shifts and their strategic impact.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, R&D, Production, Operations, Marketing, and Service departments.
- Drive data-driven decision-making for all product-related matters.
- Represent the product strategy to internal stakeholders, customers, associations, and external partners.
- Prepare executive-level insights and documentation to support strategic prioritization and informed decisions.
- Steer strategic initiatives to enhance market position and competitiveness.
- Implement improvements in product and process landscapes, including data management and digital services.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Product Management organization and across interfaces.
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse European Product Management team spread across four locations.
- Build a team culture centered on accountability, ownership, customer focus, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Plan and execute successful product launches.
- Contribute to strategically important tenders.
- Support and represent the company at customer meetings, committees, and trade fairs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Several years of international leadership experience in product management.
- Proven track record in driving strategic transformation and navigating complex, cross-functional matrix environments.
- Experience in managing portfolios of technically sophisticated products (e.g., commercial vehicles, specialty vehicles, mechanical engineering).
- Ability to translate vision into actionable strategies and measurable results.
- Strong track record in leading and developing high-performing, interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong cost awareness with a focus on transparency, efficiency, and budget discipline.
- Proactive and resilient mindset with a strong commitment to continuous learning.
- Excellent PowerPoint skills for high-quality management and executive presentations.
- Fluency in English and German is required.
