Specialized Switzerland Retail GmbH seeks a Junior HMI Development Engineer to support e-bike system development, integration, and release within a collaborative team environment.
This position supports the expanding HMI team by contributing to the creation, integration, and deployment of human-machine interface systems for electric bicycles. The role emphasizes hands-on execution and technical assistance, requiring close cooperation with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the full lifecycle of HMI feature development, from initial concept through to production.
- Help define and refine hardware and software specifications.
- Participate in the implementation and testing of new functionalities.
- Assist in debugging, issue tracking, and root cause analysis.
- Support end-of-line testing procedures and manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and follow up on production-related problems.
- Ensure all project documentation remains accurate and current.
- Maintain release notes and technical records.
- Facilitate communication of updates to internal stakeholders.
- Track project dependencies and ensure team alignment.
- Help resolve issues reported in the field.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
- 1–3 years of professional experience or relevant internship background in embedded systems, firmware, or electronics development.
- Foundational understanding of embedded systems and firmware development.
- Basic familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, BLE, and USB.
- Structured and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Strong communication abilities and capacity to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
