Internship - Automated Testing & Surgical Navigation Software (f/m/d)

This internship sits within the Technology Exploration team at B. Braun New Ventures in Freiburg. The position lasts for a minimum of five months and focuses on the technological evaluation of surgical navigation software.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in building an automated testing framework for surgical navigation applications.
  • Perform accuracy evaluations by utilizing advanced tracking methods and robotic platforms.
  • Create and run parameter studies to determine how various system setups affect performance.
  • Write and upkeep test scripts and utilities, primarily in Python or C++.
  • Manage the synchronization of diverse systems to guarantee consistent data transfer and precise timing.
  • Evaluate testing outcomes to help enhance overall system reliability and precision.
  • Partner with software developers, robotics specialists, and clinical professionals within an agile Scrum framework.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program focused on Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++.
  • Background in software or system testing, with a preference for candidates familiar with automation or validation workflows.
  • Competence in data analysis, specifically regarding statistical assessment and the creation of visualizations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ROS2.
  • Hands-on background involving robotic platforms and the integration of complex systems.
  • Proficiency in the German language.
