The Technology Exploration team within B. Braun New Ventures is seeking an intern for a minimum five-month placement in Freiburg. This position involves supporting the creation of automated testing solutions for surgical navigation software while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building an automated testing framework for surgical navigation software.
• Perform accuracy assessments utilizing advanced tracking technologies and robotic platforms.
• Create and run parameter studies to determine how different system configurations affect performance.
• Write and upkeep test scripts and utilities using Python or C++.
• Coordinate multiple systems to guarantee consistent data transmission and precise timing.
• Review test outcomes and help enhance overall system stability and precision.
• Partner with software developers, robotics specialists, and clinical professionals within an agile Scrum workflow.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or a similar discipline.
• Proficiency in programming with either Python or C++.
• Background in software or system testing, preferably within automation or validation contexts.
• Competence in data analysis, including statistical evaluation and visualization techniques.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ROS2.
• Hands-on experience with robotic systems and system integration.
• German language proficiency.
