Java Developer – Microservices

RMIT Professional Resources AG seeks a Senior Java Developer in Zürich for a hybrid contract role, focusing on microservices and the Swiss financial sector.

This position focuses on building sophisticated solutions for the Swiss financial industry. The developer partners with Product Owners and stakeholders to guide features from initial design through to operational deployment.

Responsibilities

• Create and deploy advanced functionalities tailored to the Swiss financial market.
• Participate in technical architecture decisions, selecting appropriate technologies and integration strategies.
• Enhance development workflows and team collaboration within self-managing Scrum groups.
• Own features from start to finish, guaranteeing quality through peer code reviews, automated tests, and engineering standards.
• Leverage expertise in CI/CD, DevOps practices, and container technologies to support the full development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Deep experience in Java software engineering.
• Solid grasp of microservices, event-driven patterns, REST APIs, and scalable system design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and container platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High emotional intelligence and empathy.
