This senior position serves as the primary liaison for high-value clients, focusing on nurturing long-term partnerships and ensuring their success. The role involves managing the full product portfolio through strategic cross-selling and upselling, while coordinating internal resources to meet complex customer needs and achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify customer pain points and long-term goals to uncover opportunities for expanding business through upselling and cross-selling.
- Establish and sustain trust-based relationships with key account stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Coordinate internal teams to lead solution development and implementation efforts that address specific client requirements.
- Analyze internal organizational structures to build effective connections with key influencers.
- Oversee revenue generation, order booking, and P&L management to grow the client portfolio.
- Facilitate joint strategic planning sessions with major customers to align on future objectives.
- Provide consulting-style support to cultivate referrals and identify new business avenues.
- Conduct quarterly comprehensive reviews of account performance and status with clients.
- Drive sales growth through direct channels and manage the associated sales budget.
- Draft business plans for existing accounts and prospective tender opportunities.
- Serve as the central interface between the customer and various internal divisions.
- Maintain and expand the portfolio of assigned and new key accounts.
- Negotiate contracts and handle day-to-day customer communications and information gathering.
- Resolve issues related to customer orders or concerns through effective communication.
- Gather market intelligence on competitors and customer needs to inform strategy.
- Stay current with product knowledge and industry developments.
- Formulate and execute main sales strategies for designated accounts.
- Collaborate with engineering, quoting, and accounting departments to prepare quotes and support sales activities.
- Maintain CRM databases, prepare SOM reports, and conduct SWOT analyses for budget planning.
- Represent the company at industry tradeshows, exhibitions, and associations.
- Participate in sales seminars and continuous training programs.
- Complete necessary administrative reports, including trip and expense documentation.
- Travel extensively (up to 60%) to customer sites for meetings and internal discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent professional experience.
- At least eight years of proven success in capital equipment sales.
- Demonstrated passion for excellence in customer service and management.
- Strong skills in relationship building, sales negotiation, and presentation.
- Sufficient technical understanding of the products being sold.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience presenting to senior executives, directors, and channel partners.
- Background in managing large accounts within complex decision-making environments.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor and navigate organizational structures effectively.
- Capacity to establish credibility quickly with C-level and senior leadership.
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated with the ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of confidentiality regarding organizational and employee data.
