Legal Counsel Transactions and Competition Law (m/f/d)

Schindler Aufzüge AG seeks a Legal Counsel for Transactions and Competition Law in Hergiswil. The role supports global growth through M&A, antitrust advice, and regulatory compliance within the Global Legal & Compliance team.

This position is embedded within the Global Legal & Compliance team, where the incumbent plays a key part in advancing Schindler’s international expansion strategy. The lawyer provides essential legal guidance on complex transactions and competition matters to ensure the business operates securely and efficiently across all regions.

Responsibilities

• Guide mergers and acquisitions from initial structuring and due diligence through to contract drafting, negotiations, merger control filings, and post-closing integration.
• Advise various business units on antitrust and competition law, covering new and existing installations, modernization, repairs, procurement, supply chain logistics, and digital initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external legal advisors, and regulatory authorities globally to handle merger control reviews, investigations, and other corporate law issues.
• Offer practical legal insights on external communications, competitive positioning during transactions, and other critical business projects.
• Track legal and regulatory changes to evaluate their impact on transactional activities, daily operations, and strategic planning.
• Create clear, user-focused training materials, guidelines, and best practices to help business teams implement legal and compliance standards effectively.

Requirements

• A law degree from Switzerland and admission to the bar as an attorney at law.
• Three to five years of professional experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, or competition law, gained in a law firm or in-house setting.
• Native-level proficiency in both legal English and German (C2 level).
• Strong digital skills, particularly with Microsoft 365 applications.

Nice to have

• An LL.M. degree, a doctorate, or experience working in an international context.
• Knowledge of additional languages beyond English and German.
• An interest in applying AI-enabled legal technologies to legal practice.
