Legal Trainee

Legal Trainee position at Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG in Basel, Switzerland. This internship supports the Legal for Corporate Functions team with employment law, litigation, and complex legal projects.

This traineeship sits within the Legal for Corporate Functions team at Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG. The position is structured to help candidates begin their careers in-house by tackling unfamiliar legal territory and developing expertise in new areas of law.

Responsibilities

• Offer guidance on employment law matters, including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion topics, as well as litigation and investigation issues.
• Address intricate global and local legal challenges by converting them into practical solutions.
• Oversee individual legal matters and lead significant projects such as reorganizations, divestments, new policy implementations, and artificial intelligence initiatives.
• Prepare and examine contracts, internal rules, and standard templates.
• Perform thorough legal research and produce legal memoranda that simplify complex concepts for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Hold a Swiss Bachelor of Law (BLaw) and Master of Law (MLaw), with the master's degree finished prior to the start date.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.
• Show strong motivation and the capacity to work autonomously on demanding tasks and projects.

Nice to have

• Previous legal internship experience and familiarity with employment law are advantageous.
