Lonza seeks a Director to lead the design and technology transformation of its global Capability Center network, defining operating models and digital strategies.
This role is responsible for shaping the future of Lonza’s global Capability Center network. The incumbent will define the operating model, technology strategy, and transformation roadmap, ensuring that digital capabilities support business growth and operational excellence across multiple geographies.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the global operating model, site strategy, and design principles for the Capability Center network.
- Develop the long-term multi-site transformation roadmap including migration sequencing and readiness milestones.
- Serve as the enterprise design authority for Capability Center strategy and governance.
- Design and operationalize the Capability Center Centre of Excellence (CoE) framework.
- Lead the end-to-end technology strategy for the Capability Center organization.
- Partner with Enterprise IT and external technology partners to align technology roadmaps.
- Ensure technology platforms support future automation, AI, analytics, and continuous improvement.
- Drive alignment between SAP S/4HANA, enterprise architecture, and business workflows.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead cross-functional design workshops and influence senior business leaders.
- Manage key technology partners and external consulting organizations.
- Build and lead a high-performing team.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience leading technology transformation, operating model design, or GBS/GCC programmes.
- Proven experience designing and implementing Global Capability Center operating models or shared service transformations.
- Strong understanding of target operating model design, governance frameworks, and multi-site transformation.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise technology programmes, digital platform implementations, and complex ERP-enabled transformations, including SAP S/4HANA.
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, system integration, workflow platforms, service management technologies, automation, AI, cybersecurity, and data governance.
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead complex cross-functional transformation programmes.
- Strong consulting, facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience managing external consulting partners, technology vendors, and large-scale implementation programmes.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Organizational Design, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, CDMO, or other highly regulated industries.
- TOGAF, ITIL, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications.
