Mondelez Schweiz GmbH seeks a Manager for Commodity Price Risk Management (Cocoa) in Zug, CH. The role focuses on hedging strategies, market analysis, and margin protection for cocoa commodities.
The Commodity Price Risk Management (CPRM) team aligns hedging activities with pricing strategies to safeguard profit margins. This position ensures that financial protections remain effective until the next pricing window, balancing market volatility with strategic risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Gather competitive intelligence from external markets and industry networks.
- Develop market outlooks and physical price risk strategies.
- Coordinate Risk Management Meetings (RMM) and prepare monthly presentations.
- Deliver commodity economic forecasts, including volatility risk assessments.
- Align commodity impacts and forecasts with regional, category, and global financial budgets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Spend Areas to optimize end-to-end value delivery and meet productivity KPIs.
- Partner with Spend Areas to execute approved cocoa bean and cocoa butter strategies and support supplier negotiations.
- Assist Spend Areas with blend changes, contract washouts, and external financing topics.
- Coach and train Spend Area newcomers on processes, vendor approaches, Kiodex, and shared sites.
- Lead market intelligence on cocoa butter and cocoa bean differentials, proposing strategies at PNOC.
- Manage global butter ratios and cocoa bean differentials, including switch exposure and price fixation.
- Maintain position overviews and execute switch trades to manage exposure.
- Identify commodity risks and develop mitigation strategies, such as forward contracts, inventory builds, and spot buying.
- Take a strategic long-term view of commodity markets to identify margin protection and retail pricing opportunities.
- Provide Spend Area baselines and forecasts, including volatility risk assessments.
- Partner cross-functionally to define leading-edge spend management and optimized value delivery.
- Build commodity-specific strategies in alignment with Spend Areas and regions.
- Execute price fixations by sending EFP orders to brokers, updating CMaas, and maintaining trade logs.
- Execute switch buying, including contract allocations, Kiodex updates, and rolling physical bean positions.
- Participate actively in workstreams.
- Engage in IT system implementations, including Kiodex, Governance Team, and Project Quantum.
Requirements
- University degree in agronomy, engineering, economy, or finance.
- Minimum 5 years of business experience in Commodity Price Risk Management.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural commodity markets, including futures and options.
- Experience in cocoa trading and research.
- Excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Stakeholder focus and strong communication skills.
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
Nice to have
- Experience in the cocoa chocolate industry.
