Risk Manager

IMC seeks a Senior Risk Manager in Zug to lead its European crypto risk team, overseeing market, credit, and operational risks for digital asset activities.

The company operates a 24/7 proprietary trading business focused on cryptocurrency markets. This position is based in Zug and involves leading the local European crypto risk team while managing the broader digital risk framework. The role requires a self-driven professional who can take full ownership of risk processes and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee market, credit, and operational risks for both current and upcoming digital asset operations.
• Build and maintain tools to track and reduce exposure to market and credit risks.
• Design, test, and deploy key controls to improve the overall risk framework.
• Create and update policies and procedures to manage and optimize risk levels.
• Evaluate changes in the digital asset market and refine risk methodologies accordingly.
• Conduct self-assessments to determine the likelihood and impact of potential risk events.
• Work closely with Trading, Finance, and Compliance teams on a daily basis.

Requirements

• Three to seven years of experience in financial risk management, preferably with exposure to digital assets or proprietary trading.
• Solid understanding of digital asset market structures, including exchanges, custodians, and DeFi platforms.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python, MATLAB, or R.
• Ability to explain complex risk concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management capabilities.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, physics, or financial mathematics.
