Application Manager - Trading

Crypto Finance seeks a Senior Application Manager - Trading in Zürich to ensure stability, availability, and continuous improvement of trading platforms. The role involves incident management, release coordination, client integration, and compliance with financial regulations like DORA.

This role ensures the stable and continuous operation of Crypto Finance’s trading platforms, sitting at the crossroads of technology, trading operations, and client service. The Application Manager is responsible for maintaining platform reliability and driving improvements in performance and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of trading applications, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance in production environments.
• Serve as the second-line (L2) point of contact for production incidents, handling triage, resolution via configuration changes, root cause analysis, and escalating code-related issues to engineering teams.
• Coordinate platform releases with Cloud, engineering, and delivery partners, including scheduling, change control, pre- and post-release validation.
• Support institutional clients with platform integration and troubleshooting, ensuring each client passes conformance testing before going live.
• Configure and maintain application and platform settings to align with business and client needs.
• Track and manage production tickets and improvement requests, maintaining and prioritizing the backlog.
• Assess platform performance and lead initiatives to enhance reliability, speed, and scalability.
• Assist the Product Manager with ongoing projects and ensure timely delivery of platform upgrades.
• Work with internal teams (engineering, trading, operations), institutional clients, and delivery partners to meet business needs and resolve issues quickly.
• Ensure the platform complies with security, regulatory, and compliance standards, including DORA.
• Maintain detailed platform documentation and an up-to-date knowledge base.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing or operating production-grade trading or financial technology platforms in financial services.
• Demonstrated experience in managing production incidents and conducting root cause analysis.
• Experience coordinating releases and change management across technical and vendor teams.
• Strong knowledge of API-based integrations and system connectivity (FIX, REST, WebSocket).
• Understanding of trading systems and order management workflows.
• Proficiency in ticketing and backlog management tools, with Jira preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to financial markets, including DORA.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital asset or cryptocurrency infrastructure.
• Exposure to market making or low-latency/high-frequency trading environments.
• Experience with Confluence-based documentation and knowledge management.
• Background in client or vendor onboarding and integration testing processes.
• Understanding of custody, wallet infrastructure, or post-trade systems.
