The company seeks a Senior Cocoa Pricing & Position Manager in Zürich to oversee global cocoa positions, risk monitoring, and pricing for strategic accounts, blending analytical and commercial expertise.
This position sits at the core of the global cocoa operations, responsible for managing risk exposure, overseeing position strategies, and handling pricing for major corporate agreements. The role demands a blend of sharp analytical skills and commercial insight to convert market shifts and client needs into practical business decisions. It also offers a comprehensive view of the entire cocoa supply chain, from sourcing at origin to final delivery to customers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution and tracking of global cocoa positions to ensure precise exposure control, accurate reconciliation, and alignment with hedging and risk strategies.
- Manage the full lifecycle of position activities, including consolidating volumes, calculating positions, handling synthetic exposure, executing terminal market hedges, and processing internal risk transfers.
- Track and evaluate market exposures, financial impacts, and risk standings, delivering actionable insights to trading, risk management, and commercial teams.
- Carry out pricing tasks for Global Corporate Account agreements, ensuring contracts are implemented accurately, promptly, and in compliance.
- Serve as a key liaison for customers and internal teams, coordinating on pricing strategies, position effects, and commercial execution needs.
- Handle contract portfolios for assigned clients, covering bookings, amendments, extensions, balance reconciliations, intercompany contracts, and terminal market adjustments.
- Assist with daily hedging tasks and ensure all risk elements are correctly reflected in systems, contracts, and reporting tools.
- Process market quotations and ad-hoc pricing requests, providing sales teams with competitive, commercially sound, and risk-aligned proposals.
- Create pricing solutions for new products, customer agreements, certifications, origins, and supply flows while maintaining commercial viability and effective risk management.
- Examine forecasted, contracted, and delivered volumes to aid forecasting, budgeting, demand planning, and commercial decision-making.
- Foster strong customer relationships through regular engagement, serving as a primary contact for pricing, contract execution, and market-related discussions.
- Lead continuous process improvement by enhancing reporting, increasing transparency, strengthening controls, and supporting automation initiatives.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in commodity trading, position management, pricing, sales, or risk management.
- A strong analytical mindset capable of interpreting complex market, position, and financial data to generate meaningful business insights.
- A solid grasp of hedging principles, futures markets, and commodity risk management.
- Commercial acumen to balance market dynamics, customer needs, and business objectives.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a global team environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with fluency in English.
- Proven experience building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across functions and regions.
- A good understanding of supply chain and logistics, including Incoterms, contract structures, and global cocoa flows.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.
- Expertise in the cocoa market, including futures markets, bean origins, cocoa products, and pricing mechanisms, is highly valued.
- Experience with SAP, BW, and data analysis tools is advantageous.
