Johnson & Johnson seeks a Manager for Medical Writing in Immunology at its Allschwil, CH site. The role involves leading clinical document preparation, team management, and strategic oversight within the IDAR framework.
This position sits within the Regulatory Medical Writing team under Integrated Data Analytics & Reporting (IDAR), specifically supporting the Immunology therapeutic area. The team is dedicated to developing transformational medicines for immunological disorders, and this role ensures the scientific and regulatory quality of associated clinical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation and finalization of various clinical documents.
- Drive project content, scientific strategy, timelines, and scheduling with autonomy.
- Set objectives for team projects and lead process working groups.
- Train cross-functional colleagues on medical writing processes and best practices.
- Identify and recommend improvements for departmental workflows.
- Serve as the primary liaison for medical writing activities within the clinical team, including planning and leading writing groups.
- Mentor junior staff on document planning and content, conduct peer reviews, and oversee external contractors and document specialists.
- Manage direct reports by setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating career development.
- Handle hiring decisions, onboarding procedures, and talent development discussions.
- Stay current with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate actively in medical writing and cross-functional meetings.
- Represent the Medical Writing department in industry standards working groups when necessary.
Requirements
- A university or college degree is mandatory.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in pharmaceutical or scientific fields.
- At least six years of specific experience in medical writing.
- Two years of experience in people management.
- Strong understanding and application of regulatory guidance, including ICH requirements.
Nice to have
- A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
