ABB Power Grids seeks a Manufacturing Quality Laboratory Services Technician in Molinazzo di Monteggio, CH. The role focuses on laboratory testing, quality investigations, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product compliance.
This position serves as a Manufacturing Quality Laboratory Services Specialist. The primary objective is to guarantee product quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance through rigorous laboratory testing, detailed quality investigations, and active collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to verify adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Analyze and interpret test data, document findings, and prepare reports highlighting trends, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Support investigations of quality issues by identifying root causes and contributing to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Assist in the development, validation, and continuous improvement of laboratory test methods, procedures, and quality control processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and laboratory quality management systems.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and R&D teams to drive quality improvements and support manufacturing excellence.
- Train and support laboratory team members while contributing to a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality control laboratory, ideally within an industrial or highly regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation such as spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy, or mechanical testing.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control (SPC), and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in Italian and good command of English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
