Module Architect (.NET) - Control Plane Core

ID Quantique · Genève

Id Quantique seeks a Senior Module Architect to design secure .NET components for its quantum network Control Plane, focusing on modular architecture, security, and API governance.

This position is responsible for designing and building modular, secure .NET components for the quantum network Control Plane. The role involves orchestrating, managing, and monitoring quantum devices, handling onboarding, configuration, operational workflows, and providing visibility through stable, extensible APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Define the architecture for core control plane services, including REST APIs, orchestration, and configuration, while maintaining clear boundaries with data, key-management, and identity/access layers.
  • Write, maintain, and review production .NET code for the Control Plane, contributing to shared libraries and troubleshooting issues across various environments.
  • Establish plugin and extension points for business domains such as quantum key distribution and network management, ensuring versioned contracts and compatibility strategies.
  • Implement security-by-design principles, including OpenID Connect, role-based access control, mutual TLS, certificate lifecycle management, and crypto agility for post-quantum readiness.
  • Set up architectural runways with reference implementations, coding standards, API governance using OpenAPI/Swagger, and secure development quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with centralized orchestration and device teams to ensure consistent end-to-end workflows, standardize telemetry with OpenTelemetry, and ensure reliable device-to-platform messaging via MQTT.

Requirements

  • Over 10 years of experience in .NET (ASP.NET Core, C#), including architect roles on distributed systems.
  • Proven experience designing plugin/extensibility frameworks and stable API contracts.
  • Strong security background in OIDC/OAuth2, mTLS, cert lifecycle, RBAC, and zero-trust architecture.

Nice to have

  • Experience with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and crypto-agility, particularly in regulated/telecom or high-security environments.
  • Familiarity with policy-based authorization (e.g., Open Policy Agent), multi-tenant controls, and observability/telemetry using OpenTelemetry.
  • Exposure to SDN and network management standards (e.g., NETCONF/YANG), PKI concepts, and operations.
  • Knowledge of ETSI standards related to quantum key distribution and key-management interfaces.
  • Understanding of quantum networking and device-management interfaces.

What the company offers

  • Join one of the fastest-growing and most exciting quantum companies globally.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits package, and equity plan designed to reward excellence.
  • Flexible work models to balance life, family, and career.
  • Ongoing training and development to keep skills sharp and support growth.
  • Career development plan within the IonQ group’s companies.
  • Dynamic, close-knit environment collaborating with a global team of experts.
