Network Architect (80-100%)

Skyguide seeks a Senior Network Architect to shape the future of its IT and network infrastructure. Based in Wangen b. Dübendorf, CH, this 80-100% role involves designing secure, scalable network solutions and advising teams and stakeholders on technology strategy.

As a Network Architect, the individual will lead the development of Skyguide’s network infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, resilient, and prepared for future demands. They will serve as a technical advisor to engineering and management, guiding the adoption of modern networking technologies and defining reusable architectural components for the Platform team and broader architecture community.

Responsibilities

• Design and own network architecture components that are scalable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise goals
• Lead the modernization of the network environment by integrating current networking approaches
• Offer technical guidance to engineering teams on implementing advanced networking solutions
• Advise management and business units on networking trends, risks, and strategic options
• Integrate security into network design, following relevant standards and best practices
• Work across technical domains including compute, storage, cloud, and applications to ensure seamless integration
• Create and maintain architectural documentation, standards, and models

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Demonstrated experience in network architecture for complex, high-reliability or safety-critical systems
• Experience with architecture documentation and modeling techniques
• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching technologies from enterprise vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Extreme Networks
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
