ETH Zurich offers a full-time, on-site PhD position in Global Trade, Supply Chains and Climate Shocks. Candidates will use quantitative models and firm-level data to study supply chain resilience to climate change, within the D-MTEC doctoral program, for up to four years.
This PhD role focuses on assessing supply chain resilience to climate shocks using global trade equilibrium models. The candidate will analyze firm-level data to estimate impacts of weather events on industries and countries, integrating findings into the model. The doctorate is part of the D-MTEC program and expected to be completed within four years.
Responsibilities
- Apply theoretical, computational, and econometric methods to examine public policy issues related to global supply chain resilience in the face of climate change.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in economics or finance.
- High proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or Julia, with willingness to work primarily in MATLAB.
Nice to have
- Previous coursework in trade theory.
- Previous coursework in environmental economics.
- Experience with panel data econometrics.
