The successful candidate will design and execute experiments to determine the optimal plant species and environmental factors for inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and other beneficial microorganisms.
Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments in both field and greenhouse settings to evaluate plant species and conditions for inoculation with AMF and beneficial microbes aimed at increasing crop yield.
- Apply molecular techniques such as qPCR and metabarcoding, alongside microscopy, to measure microbial colonization in soil and plant roots.
- Participate in the analysis of experimental data and prepare reports on findings.
- Disseminate research outcomes by publishing results in reputable, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Requirements
- Hold a Master's degree in microbiology, agronomy, microbial ecology, microbiome research, or botany with a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate expertise in at least one area: plant-based field or greenhouse experiments, microbial ecology, fungi, bacteria, or molecular and microbiological laboratory methods.
- Exhibit an achievement-oriented mindset, openness to new ideas, and strong teamwork capabilities.
- Be willing and able to perform work in outdoor field environments.
