The Paul Scherrer Institute seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research on ore processing and develop data pipelines at the ADDAMS beamline.
This position is based within the Materials Science Group at the Swiss Light Source, specifically operating at the ADDAMS beamline. Half of the role is dedicated to the ANAXAM center, where the focus is on creating analytical methods to solve practical industrial challenges.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research into the mechanochemical activation of phosphate ores.
- Enhance and maintain data pipelines at the ADDAMS beamline, emphasizing combined XRD and XRF workflows for industrial use.
- Provide assistance to users accessing the beamline facilities.
- Disseminate findings through publications and presentations at scientific conferences.
Requirements
- Hold a PhD in Geology, Material Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrate practical expertise in diffraction techniques, particularly powder diffraction (XRD), and potentially X-ray fluorescence (XRF).
- Possess strong programming abilities in Python.
- Communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
