The Paul Scherrer Institut seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to research digital-analog quantum simulation and many-body physics in Villigen, Switzerland.
This position focuses on advancing quantum information theory and many-body physics, specifically applying these concepts to quantum simulation and computing. As part of Switzerland’s largest natural and engineering sciences institute, the role contributes to cutting-edge research in future technologies and fundamental science.
Responsibilities
- Perform research in quantum information theory and many-body physics, targeting applications in quantum simulation and computing.
- Create theoretical frameworks and methods for digital-analog quantum simulation, with a focus on ultracold atoms in optical lattices for near-term devices.
- Work closely with experimental and theoretical collaborators within the European network.
- Disseminate findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Share research outcomes at national and international conferences.
Requirements
- Hold a PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrate a strong research background in quantum information theory, many-body physics, or quantum simulation.
- Possess programming skills and experience in both analytical and numerical research.
- Have good proficiency in English.
