Sonova is seeking a Practical Trainee in Manufacturing Process Development based in Staefa, Switzerland. The role focuses on optimizing production processes and analyzing material systems for hearing aid manufacturing.
This position supports a team dedicated to refining manufacturing processes and defining production parameters for global sites. The trainee will investigate complex material systems, specifically focusing on protecting solder joints from corrosion through specialized coating technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate material systems, solder joints, and protective coating technologies
- Assist in creating internal testing standards for corrosion protection methods
- Perform laboratory experiments, technology analyses, and feasibility studies
- Manage and conduct various measurements within the test and analysis laboratory
- Interpret and analyze experimental data and measurement results
- Draft technical reports and maintain documentation
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently finished a Master's program in Materials Science, Physical Chemistry, or a related scientific or engineering field
- Demonstrated interest in materials, manufacturing technologies, and laboratory work
- Analytical and structured approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Basic experience with laboratory testing and technical documentation
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the German language is advantageous
- Familiarity with material characterization methods is beneficial
