Medtronic seeks an Intern in Process Development Engineering in Lausanne. The role involves supporting manufacturing process validation, data analysis, and continuous improvement within a medical device context.

This internship places candidates within the engineering team to assist with the design, optimization, and validation of manufacturing and business processes. It provides practical exposure to Design for Reliability and Manufacturability, allowing interns to contribute to continuous improvement efforts while receiving mentorship from subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with process validation tasks, including gathering data, performing analysis, and maintaining documentation.
  • Run experiments and tests to assess how process modifications affect outcomes.
  • Help develop and qualify robust testing methods, collaborating closely with the mechanical service group on tooling.
  • Execute Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to verify the reliability of testing methods.
  • Draft Work Instructions to support implementation and long-term operational use.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Engineering (such as Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, Microtechnology, or Biomedical) or a related discipline.
  • Fluent proficiency in both French and English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have

  • Experience with process mapping, statistical analysis, or tool development.
