Full-time 6-month internship in Schaffhausen supporting process development and fill/finish manufacturing for biotherapeutics. Ideal for students or early-career candidates with lab experience.
This full-time, six-month internship sits within the Global Process, Biotherapeutics Drug Product Development and Delivery organization. The position is designed for students or early-career professionals with limited experience who will assist senior and principal scientists with process development, technology transfer, and fill/finish manufacturing activities for biotherapeutic products.
Responsibilities
- Assist scientists with preparing, executing, and following up on process development and technology transfer tasks for drug product fill/finish processes.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data to create summaries, tables, and presentations that aid scientific decision-making.
- Maintain project documentation, including experiment records, meeting notes, action trackers, technical templates, and report support materials.
- Support laboratory, pilot-scale, or manufacturing activities under the supervision of experienced scientists.
- Conduct background research to inform experimental design and interpret results.
- Collaborate with team members and other functions, attend lab and team meetings, present findings, and participate in problem-solving.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of scientific principles and a willingness to learn about biotherapeutic drug product processes and fill/finish operations.
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in both German and English.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to document work accurately and consistently.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, ask questions, follow guidance, and communicate progress or challenges promptly.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, with a basic understanding of statistical methods and analysis software.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Prior laboratory work experience.
