Advanced Process Data Analytics and Modeling Internship

Biogen (Switzerland) seeks an Intern for Advanced Process Data Analytics and Modeling in Solothurn. The role focuses on using AI and Python to optimize bioprocess monitoring and efficiency within the Global Manufacturing Sciences Team.

This internship sits within the Global Manufacturing Sciences Team at the Solothurn Biologics Manufacturing facility. The position centers on applying process data analytics and artificial intelligence to improve real-time bioprocess monitoring and predict key performance metrics. By doing so, the intern helps drive operational efficiency at the Solothurn site.

Responsibilities

• Construct automated pipelines for data extraction and processing using OSI PI, Statistica, and Python.
• Develop AI models based on real-time bioprocess data to forecast yield and critical quality attributes.
• Design new analytical tools and apply data-driven modeling techniques in Python to characterize bioprocessing unit operations.
• Create intuitive applications and visualizations to aid in process monitoring, trend analysis, and performance evaluation.
• Perform root cause analysis and suggest process enhancements derived from data insights.
• Assist process experts with data analysis tasks, visualization, and reporting.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Computational Sciences, or a related field.
• Understanding of bioprocessing fundamentals, ETL for large datasets, statistical data analytics, and Python programming.
• Proven ability to handle and visualize large datasets.
• Strong proficiency in Python.

Nice to have

• Experience with ML/DL libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with statistical tools and process modeling concepts.
• Experience with Process Analytical Technology (PAT).
• Strong mathematical and programming background, especially in modeling bioprocesses.
