Sonova seeks a Senior Manager for Hearing Performance in Staefa, CH, to lead engineering teams in translating algorithmic innovations into superior sound experiences for hearing instruments.

This position focuses on defining and optimizing how Sonova’s upcoming hearing devices perform and sound in real-world scenarios. The role involves guiding a team of engineers to convert advanced algorithmic concepts into tangible user benefits, operating at the convergence of audiology, signal processing, deep learning, and system integration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of hearing performance for Sonova’s algorithmic advancements.
  • Mentor, guide, and support a group of hearing performance engineers.
  • Develop new hearing features and algorithms from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and final product release.
  • Make data-driven decisions by overseeing technical measurements, performance assessments, and testing protocols.
  • Collaborate with teams in Signal Processing, Deep Learning, Audiological Innovation, Controller Software, and Marketing to ensure innovations result in high-quality products.
  • Convert strategic roadmaps into clear, actionable goals for the team.
  • Improve development workflows, tools, and infrastructure, including the integration of AI technologies.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Acoustics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sound processing, engineering, or MedTech R&D.
  • Demonstrated senior-level technical or functional leadership experience.
  • History of leading people, complex technical projects, and cross-functional teamwork in international, multi-site settings.
  • Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in German.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulations, validation frameworks, or data-driven development environments.
