HUBER+SUHNER seeks a Product Engineer to design and implement test solutions for product integration, ensuring quality and efficient manufacturing processes.
This position focuses on creating and validating product integration solutions that align with the company's operational strategy. The engineer ensures that high-quality products are developed and manufactured effectively by overseeing the transition from design to volume production.
Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable test setups to verify and validate product performance.
- Guide new product developments from initial design through to manufacturing transfer.
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to develop tools that improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Develop hardware and software test equipment, including electro-optical testing systems.
- Deliver test solutions within defined budget constraints and timelines.
- Establish procedures and tools that simplify complex processes for production staff.
- Define test requirements for new designs intended for volume manufacturing.
- Support the evaluation and introduction of cost-saving measures and supply chain security improvements.
- Draft procurement specifications for third-party vendors to build bespoke test platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong background in testing and ability to troubleshoot complex integration systems.
- Methodical and structured problem-solving approach.
- Effective communication skills with multi-disciplinary engineers and managers.
- Organized and independent, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to quality standards and timely delivery.
- Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Experience in software test development using Python or LabView.
- Background in hardware testing and debugging.
- Understanding of assembly and test methods, including interactions between components, processes, software, and product quality.
