Project Technician II

Bystronic seeks a Project Technician II to implement and support Smart Factory software solutions, including ERP and MES platforms, bridging business systems with shop floor operations in a remote, full-time role.

This position focuses on deploying and maintaining Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 software within actual manufacturing settings. The technician serves as a vital link between enterprise resource planning systems and production floor activities, contributing to an expanding portfolio of industrial software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Smart Factory software, including ERP, MES, and analytics tools
• Set up and support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Premium)
• Help clients with software installation, configuration, and initial system setup
• Connect ERP systems with shop floor and production environments
• Resolve system, workflow, and data issues across various software platforms
• Advise clients on aligning business processes with system features
• Identify, document, and escalate complex software problems
• Work with internal departments like Software, Service, Applications, and Projects to solve client issues
• Conduct customer training sessions both on-site and remotely
• Manage system updates, upgrades, and continuous improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
• Technical proficiency with experience in software implementation or support
• Practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Premium)
• Background in manufacturing environments or industrial software solutions
• Experience in ERP implementation, configuration, or support roles
• Knowledge of production processes, inventory management, or shop floor operations
• Basic understanding of system integrations, databases, or data flows

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot business and production workflows
• Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
