Quant & Analytics Consultant - Financial Services Risk Consulting

The company seeks a Quant & Analytics Consultant for its Financial Services Risk Advisory team in Zürich. The position focuses on quantitative modeling, risk analysis, and AI governance for financial clients.

This position sits within the Financial Services Risk Advisory team at the Zürich office. The consultant will join the Quant & Analytics group to work on meaningful consulting and audit assignments for financial services clients from the start of their tenure.

Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate quantitative models to assess market, credit, operational, and fraud risks.
• Conduct statistical analysis to validate models and communicate findings to internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies through memos and presentations.
• Assess the value of financial products and derivatives while tracking industry trends.
• Evaluate client risk management functions and appetite, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks.
• Develop and implement AI governance and risk management structures for financial institutions.
• Assist with non-financial risk projects, including sustainability and climate risk, and integrate these into broader risk frameworks.

Requirements

• Master's or doctoral degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, or econometrics.
• One to three years of professional experience in consulting, financial risk management, or model development and validation.
• Strong interest in financial risk management and a track record of applying quantitative methods to solve risk-related challenges.
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.
• Strong analytical capabilities combined with methodological rigor and cross-functional skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, C#, or VBA.
• Interest in emerging trends such as AI, machine learning, large language models, and sustainability within banking and insurance.
• Ability to communicate in French.
